Queen: Honeymoon alone, what fun!

All you Bollywood movie lovers out there can already guess I’m talking ‘Queen’ which released recently this year.

It’s dedicated to all innocent young women who haven’t seen the world yet without being escorted around mother earth by either their half intelligent husbands or then controlling parents. In this case Queen has her fat baby brother accompanying her to dates with London wala chora; cracking jokes only his sweet sister laughs at and the groom tolerates.

Indian women especially in the rural parts of our country grow up thinking that marrying abroad or marrying a successful man means they’ve struck gold!

The movie begins with a senti song called ‘London Thumakda’ where all of ‘Queen’s’ family is elated including her that she’d be flying to foreign land with the love of her life. Her dream is shattered on the eve of her wedding day. The ‘Londonwala groom’ ditches poor Queen stating he’s too good for a rural, Chandigarh ki halwai & that he wants out of their love affair. The protagonist is shattered & locks herself in her room crying river Nile thinking what would be of her future!

The beginning of the movie would make you believe it’s going the same 360 degree stereo typical way where she is going to empower herself by either making it big as some sort of business woman in London or anything else that will satisfy her bruised ego. This is where the story line of the movie takes you by surprise.

Queen wakes up & decides to take her PARIS WALA honeymoon without her booboo. The surprise is not that she has anything to prove to herself; she’s perhaps the cutest bride-to-be left at the alter. All Queen wants to do is have fun! The ‘Wild fun’ she thought would be enabled by now horrible Booboo. She is desperate she just wants to have fun but there are limitations; those that make the movie a must watch.

Queen breaks into hilarity in every situation. Right from picking on a fish eye at a French restaurant sending it flying to another’s table to travelling in her plat & Punjab di kurti with her handbag she just can’t seem to let go because it has her passport; that passport which should have been left in the hotel room for carefree travelling.Queen's hilarious.

Nevertheless, she’s one hell of a Punjabi kudi with hidden elements of crazy that makes her the waitresses’ favorite at her hotel. The waitress is an NRI & teaches Queen to let go of her inhibitions. To dance her life out in the sweet harmony of this beautiful journey called life.

Queen gets that. Then on she does get a life & stays in a room in Amsterdam with three foreign boys. She starts to understand herself better & all love her in return. By this time Londonwala chora wants her back. So Indian male typical. But Queen's not interested anymore. The untouched virgin has many ‘smoochy’ surprises to discover with hot looking phirangi waiting for her afterall!

Queen is throned finally by the freedom she allows her soul. She comes back home to kick booboo out of her life forever & to live life's presents waiting for her.

Kangana Ranaut is simply outstanding in the movie & the ‘Kai Po Che’ debutant is perfectly suited for the role to support the protagonist. It’s an ordinary movie made fantastic with this simple concept of ‘Girls just wanna have fun’ that’s made the movie a super hit, well deserved at that.
