It feels great.It
feels like I have finally started achieving what I came to Mumbai for :)
- How did Ugly Happen to you?
On the sets of Gangs
of Wasseypur, Anurag was so impressed by me he offered me Ugly then.
- Ugly is a Black Humor
thriller, didn't you have inhibitions before venturing into something so
offbeat or you just relied on the brilliant man Anurag Kashyap's instinct?
Anurag's instinct
& confidence in me.
- In spite of not having lead
roles in any of your films until now, you have shown through in all your
films.Do you think it's foolish on the part of mainstream actors to reject
good scripts only because they wouldn't be the lead actors?
To each it's own.
- You know after Nawazuddin Siddiqui, you seem like an actor who breathes his acting talent. Your exceptional performance in Ugly shows that. Tell us your struggle in the film industry so far.
The fruit of success
without struggle is not so sweet after all is all I can say to sum up my great
experience in Bollywood.
- You know creative people
have their OCD's, it's like their medicine before any major performance,
tell us your top three..

- If you have to pick your favourite film, which one would it be?
Ugly
- Piece of advice to young, struggling, passionate and really talented actors out there
Just have faith in yourself.
That's your fuel. It keeps you going always.
- Do you think it's more difficult to break through in Bollywood than in Tolly, Kolly and otherwise?
Clearly.It took me 12
years to get here :)
- Do you think with the rise of new-age. Cinema, the Indian cinema going audience is maturing in their taste of films?
Yes. Now word of
mouth from reliable sources that have a great taste in cinema works better than
futile efforts of marketing a film.
- Who's your role model? One who keeps you going, encouraging yo to give it your best shot each time?
My sister.She always
had faith in me. When nothing worked out, she kept me going.And Anurag Kashyap
who picked me from my tunnel of struggle.
- You know it's so easy for kids to feel insecure about their parents in this fast, competitive city life now-a-days, your advice to busy parents
Teach your kids the
importance of relationships from a very young age so they turn out sensitive
and understanding
- How important is a stable marriage to a child's complete well-being? Do you think it's time for concepts like foster families to come into play in Indian Metros?
A mature marriage is
very important so that parents can prevent their Kids psychological damage at various
integral levels of the mind & heart.
No, foster families
not yet. Parents should give parenthood the best chance they can and be
prepared for parenthood before they venture into their child's birth.
