Deepak interrupting Jasleen and Deepika trying to be Hina Khan! |
It’s that time of the year where the controversial show Big
Boss is playing on our TV screens again. With that we pray it will live up to
all our expectations. There’ll be drama, romance, fights and gut splitting
idotics by the contestants. Like all the seasons so far, we will have a time of
our lives for an hour every day for three months. But is Big Boss season 12
really worth its hype?
I have been an ardent fan of the show since its inception. I
have followed all the seasons like my life depended on them. But Big Boss
season 12 just doesn’t do it for me. The contestants are dull and none have the
personality to light up the screen and their fights are really lame. The show
looks cluttered with these remote looking unknown faces and most celebs aren’t
that famous for the audience to connect with them. Although Big Boss season 10
had ‘aam admi’ too, but they were so cool! I remember the winner, Manveer Gujjar
and his crackerjacks throughout the show.
All the 11 seasons of Big Boss have been crazy and their candidness
made the show more memorable. This time around though, the show just isn’t lit
enough. Do you YT repeat episodes just to re-watch your favorite parts? If no, then well you know...
Some people on the show that get to me:
That rural man Deepak and his so called “shishya aka friend with
benefits” Urvashi are incorrigible. My eyes hurt looking at them. This rural
man thinks he is prepping up for some Godly discourse that he has to be honest
about everything! He isn’t a team player and Salman should teach him manners
not to interrupt when someone else is talking.
This ‘shishya’ Urvashi of his is two miles ahead of her
wannabe singer Guru. She portrays herself to be harmless and fragile and oh so
sweet but that mask falls out in front of me. If it’s their strategy to go
against their team and stand up for what is politically right then it’s a poor
one. Somebody go tell them that the premise of the show is to be loyal with their
team. Not go against them!
Then comes the bahu of the decade old show with a stale
audience from ‘Sasural Simar Ka.” I mean is that show still running on air?
Anyway, so this Deepika, she acts very sati-savitri and cries at every given
opportunity and that’s like really annoying! That task where the contestants
had to sit through the torture to win some shield, she didn’t get badgered at
all and I thought that was completely scripted.
Sreesanth comes across as this total loser kid on the show.
He wants to leave the Big Boss House after every disagreement. So why doesn’t
Big Boss let him go already? He can’t even talk smoothly except in his mother
tongue I’m guessing. The has-been cricketer is not sporty at all.
I thought the show was supposed to be entertaining and not self-appraising.
In this season, I’m seeing everyone play safe except that Saba, Soni and Romil.
I respect them for standing up for themselves. The rest are quite inconsequential.Anyway, so I hope the season get
more entertaining in the coming week or it’s so outta my watch list.
