The Love Game, Season 2: Episode 3

 Bombay is majestic and South Bombay, at the rate of sounding pompous, is leisure to the eyes and feeling soul. The British architecture somehow manages to root you to your deepest desires and let's them surface in the face of this beauty around you.

It was 11 am and Jahnvi was on her way to pick her friend, Sim from her place in Colaba. The rooftop cafe, Harbour View was just a block from where she lived. They'd both wait at the cafe for the party to arrive and munch something before the drama began.

Little did Jahnvi know that in spite of her smart counter plan, things would spiral outta control when Sahil met Prantik and his date.

Jahnvi and Sim were just finishing their brunch of vanilla waffles, sausages, orange juice and black coffee when Sahil entered the cafe. In high spirits and eager to witness 'The Love Game', he smiled his way to his designated seat next to Jahnvi.

So, where is your ex-boyfriend? And, despite of being married and in love with my wife, do I have to kiss you on the cheek to act the part effortlessly?

Jahnvi and Sim laughed a wicked laugh and leaning in on the conversation for confidentiality sake, they both in unison told Sahil yes.

Yes, please kiss me on the cheeks. A peck should do the trick and don't forget to hold my hand throughout the brunch date.

And don’t worry, your wife trusts me, Jahnvi added for extra effect.

Just then Sim saw Prantik making an entry with Jade. She was a pretty girl. Something subtly well established about her could catch your eye on first go.

Jahnvi saw Prantik walking towards them, her heart fluttering at the sight of him, quickly turned all her attention towards Sahil who was visibly nervous. But he aced the play like a pro.

Sim winked at Jahnvi and Sahil as a signal to begin the drama.

Hey, if it isn't Sim and my ex-girlfriend, Prantik said a little surprised to see Jahnvi sitting with a new guy who he knew was definitely not Sim's boyfriend. Then who was this guy? Prantik wondered as he took a seat with Jade.

Hi Ms. Saini, introduce me to this gentleman? Prantik literally said that with so much spite, Jahnvi wanted to laugh.

Hi, I am Sahil, Jahnvi's fiancé, Sahil said grinning from ear to ear. He was clearly enjoying Prantik's confusion.

I am sorry, who? Didn't you guys break your engagement three years ago? Prantik asked completely stressed out.

Yes, but we made up recently and I am courting Jahnvi all over again, Sahil said matter of factly.

Jahnvi could see how duped Prantik looked that minute. She really wanted him to burst out in frustration for this unexpected road block in his plan.

Mr. Saxena, won't you introduce me to your date? Jahnvi asked playing innocent.

Uhhh, yes, she is my new girlfriend Ms.Saini.Her name's Jade Wakhia, Prantik said through gritted teeth.

Wow! You moved on pretty quick, Jahnvi said a little perturbed by the situation.

Well, you're courting your ex-fiancé all over again so it just makes sense for me to move on, Prantik said looking at Sim, feeling betrayed.

Sim averted her gaze and focused on her now empty plate.

Prantik couldn't believe this reality. Until last night he was sure, Jahn would be willing to discuss their future together after being jealous of Jade but here she was courting her ex-fiancé and Sim hadn't even told him that! He was not only feeling jealous right now but he was mad at Sim and his lady love!

Hi Jade, it’s so nice to meet you, Jahnvi said politely.

It's nice to meet you too, Jade said looking thoroughly confused because she couldn't continue playing the plan if Jahnvi was engaged. She felt bad for Prantik.

Prantik decided he wasn't going to accept this turn of events and reached over to Jade to kiss her on her forehead before holding her hand.

Jahnvi who taught she was over Prantik, suddenly felt very jealous! She thought seeing Sahil, he would witness his plan backfire and confront her but she didn't expect this outcome!

Jade, be careful, Ms. Saini has a habit of ignoring her friends, Prantik said cheerful to catch Jahnvi's red face.

And you be careful Jade, Mr. Saxena has a habit of disappearing, Jahnvi said almost blurting out the words in anger.

And you be careful Sahil, your fiancé becomes cold to people with the slightest inconvenience to her, Prantik said with irritation.

And you be careful Jade, Mr. Saxena has a habit of getting too attached without truly accepting one's love. Could be dangerous for you, Jahnvi said with the last of her breath in control before storming off the cafe with Sahil.

At that minute, Sim looked at Jade and they both telepathied the fact that Jahnvi and Prantik were both made for each other. They matched 100 percent because both their egos were of the same wavelength!

Jahnvi wanted Prantik to confront her and Prantik wanted Jahn to run into his arms. Who would make the first move? Sim thought weighing in the options and wondering what would happen next in this Love Game!
